Ready Display Option \R
(Menu 10: Messages)
By placing \R in System Message #57 (top line default) or System Message #58 (bottom line
default) the system will show the not ready status in two possible formats. Split arm systems
will show READY (System Message #3) followed by “12345678” showing the ready areas,
not ready areas are shown with a dash in place of the digit (example: “1---45--8”). Non-split
arm systems will show READY (System Message #3), NOT READY (System Message #2) or
ARMED (System Message 15).
11.4 Operational Changes
Chime and Instant
When Chime or Instant is pressed on multi-area stations, the user is requested to enter a code.
When the code is entered the user is granted access to the Arm Menu, which allows Chime and
Instant to be controlled for each area (including single area users). Previously, single area users
could not activate chime and instant from multi-area stations.
Duress Prefix Alarms
Duress prefix alarms (initiated by pressing the duress code before the user code) now report a
separate zone for each touchpad. The zone number is the touchpad (ID * 4) + 145 (that is, the
touchpad ID number multiplied by 4, plus 145). Other zones in this region (> 144) are the
touchpad panic keys that use a similar formula.
Group Reporting
Each area open/close is reported as two events:
the user ID event, OPen/CLose nnn and
the area ID event, Open/Close Group nnn.
In previous versions, when more than one area was opened or closed at the same time, the user
ID event would only be sent once followed by multiple group ID reports. Since most open and
close operations will involve one area at a time, this will not cause significantly increased
report traffic. No automation changes will be required.
Door Event Buffering
Door access events are always buffered into event memory, regardless of printing and report-
ing options. Previously, events were only stored if reported or printed.
Download When Armed
Downloading when armed is allowed with Revision H. While downloading, zones will be dis-
abled. When downloading is finished, operation will resume normally.
Listen-in
While listen-in is active, trouble beeps and internal speaker tones are disabled automatically.
Auto Interior
Auto interior would cause not ready interior zones to go into alarm, Revision H correctly
senses the not ready zones.
Door Bell and Unused Zones
When programmed as zone type Unused or Door Bell and 24 HR Zone, the zone will not affect
the ready light. This allows Door Bell Zones to be not ready when the system is armed. Unused
zones can be used as inputs to programmable I/O without affecting the system.
